Workshops
Along with regular circus training, students are encouraged to participate in skills workshops to provide useful knowledge and training in all things circus. These workshops range from breathing and movement, to rigging and safety.
Please check the schedule regularly to see what workshops are available each month.

Team Carnie Master Classes
Team Carnie strives to provide the highest quality instruction in our regularly scheduled classes, however, from time to time we bring in guest artists and performers to teach a Master Class. These classes are completely designed by the guest artist, and vary in skill and apparatus. The classes are longer than a normal class, and have specific requirements according to the guest artist.
Master Classes rotate frequently, so be sure to check back with our class schedule often.
Master Classes are on a first come, first serve (FCFS) basis, and have a required sign up window.

Aerial Silks
Aerial Silks classes combine strength and grace, by testing each students dexterity in the air. Utilizing their entire bodies to suspend themselves in beautiful shapes, knots, and drops several feet off the ground, Silks classes are easily one of the most popular circus classes available.
Team Carnie requires students to progress in strength before attempting skills with drops, or at heights above hands on (HO) spotting range.
Skills classes require tight fitting clothing, leggings or tights, and no jewelry. Hair must be pulled back and up, and lotion is not recommended as it causes lack of grip and increased sliding. Zippers or other metal items are strictly prohibited as they can damage the silks.
Aerial Hoop/ Lyra
Aerial Hoop (or Lyra) is an aerial static apparatus, that utilizes a large metal ring on which the student performs. Aerial Hoop is most common for feats of flexibility, and speed as the apparatus rotates from a fixed single or double point.
Team Carnie Aerial Hoop classes are taught at hands on (HO) range, and requires the students to become comfortable with spinning and lifting of their own body. Skills are taught in succession based upon individual strength progression as assessed by the instructor. Classes can be single or double occupancy hoops.
Aerial Hoop classes require tight fitting shorts or tights with exposed feet, and tank tops or shirts that do not constrict the body, or hang loosely in the way of the apparatus.
Hair is preferred to be up and away from the face, and now jewelry is permitted. Chalk is utilized in this class to assist with grip of the bar.
Contortion
Contortion classes are Team Carnies only current grounded class. These classes help to increase body and spatial awareness in students by challenging their muscle control and overall flexibility. Once students reach a specific level of control, they can begin transition from flexibility poses to Contortion poses such as folds and handstands. Contortion is recommended for ALL STUDENTS as it helps increase overall movement and muscular control.
Contortion classes are similar to dance classes. Please come with tight fitting under layers where lines can be easily viewed by the instructor. Comfortable outer layers are encouraged to keep muscles warm in between poses.
